This new year, what will you be changing about yourself? Lose weight? Neh. Stop eating chocolate? Well.. actually, that one’s never worked. How about changing your hair? Yes. But what is in style for 2010?

I reasearched and researched until my fingers fell off… not literally, but it feels like they will any second now.

It seems that Lady Gaga is already ahead of us. Here’s the deal of 2010:

- Bleach blonde hair.

- Bluntly cut bangs/ fringe.

- No, or hardly any, layers.

- Just over chin length.

Lady Gaga has ticked all of those off already. But what if you have long hair and want a bob but without having the snip?

The “FOB”- fake bob!

Here’s how you do it:

1. Get some shortish layers, chin to shoulder length is perfect.

2. Seperate these layers and clip them on top of your head.

3. Get your longer hair in a loose pony tail at the nape of your neck and pin up.

4. Let down those shorter layers!!!

So will you be going for the chop or faking it?

I heard one being played on the radio in the last week, so surely that means its time to get festive!!

And I was thinking, what colour nail polish would go nicely with the dress I’m going to wear to my Christmas party?!? Well, you may ask what my dress looks like, and it’s going to be the same answer again. A trusty LBD.

This year, mine is a gorgeous one from New Look, complete with small studs, to add that bit of Grunge Glam I’ve been obsessing over. It’s a bargain at a beautiful £30, and you can re-use it to all the other parties you’ll be seen at too, and make it look different each time.

I have many different ways of wearing this gorgeous dress, but here is my favourite:

- The LBD, of course!

- Black patent heels, about 2 – 3 inches.

- A cute feather bolero.

- Opaque tights

- Silver jewellery

Hmm, and the makeup is also very exciting!!

- Berry coloured nails will stand out from your sexy black dress, get them shaped nicely too!

- A subtle brown smokey eye and some berry gloss on your lips.

Do you chuck on that witch outfit you wore 3 halloweens ago, or do you find something new, different and individual to dress up in?

As the Twilight Saga is big at the moment, I’m guessing quite a few people will be dressing as vampires and werewolves, so don’t go down that road if you want to impress your mates. I also know tons of people who are dressing up as Michael Jackson from the dead. Some individual, funky ideas are Where’s Wally/ Waldo, Charlie Brown, Tom & Jerry (you and your best mate could dress as these!) and other of your favourite characters from your childhood.

If you turn up wearing the same outfit as your enemy, don’t hide away. Be confident and don’t worry about it. The same applies to if you turn up and no-one else is wearing fancy dress. Just joke around and say “Awh, you don’t have the Halloween spirit in you!”

Reid Peppard is a new designer. She designs many different accesories. But these accesories are totally different to what you think, oh no, they’re not your ordinary canvas bag, they’re made out of dead animals. Whether it be a fox that has been run over, or even your neighbours pet guinea pig, Reid stuffs these animals and creates them into purses, necklaces, headbands and other jewellery.

So far she has made a comb with half a guinea pigs body as the handle, a white rat purse, mouse brooch, mouse cufflinks, pigeon wing pendant, pigeon wing headband, rat skin ring… and quite a few more pieces. She has even preserved a rats tounge, pickled and jarred, and gave it to her friend.

It is also said that Lady Gaga has ordered quite a selection of accesories from Reid.

I don’t really know what my opinion about her collection is.. it’s good that she’s not killing the animal, and she’s using already dead creatures, but frankly I would be quite creeped out wearing a fox on my head.

In Season 1 of Gossip Girl, Taylor had to play Jenny, a shy, cute, preppy teen. Taylor has said in interviews that she had to compete against that preppy standard when she went out, and felt her own personal style was locked up, and she wasn’t allowed to reveal it. In Season 2, Jenny started going across the line and started to dress a bit more punky and she was more confident. She didn’t want to be like all those wannabe “It” girls afterall, and Gossip Girl let her leash off and she revealed her style.

Taylor started out wearing more “subtle” rocker looks, for an example, to the Topshop opening, she wore a bright neon pink bodycon skirt with a leather jacket and matching pink lips and a smoky eye. She looked fabulous and was on most of the “best dressed” lists around the world.

Weeks later it was her Sweet 16 and she rocked out with her band, The Pretty Reckless, wearing a translucent pink slip dress, kind of showing her underwear off. Now she’s going around with her band wearing oversized shirts, with suspenders underneath.

After this outfit, critics asked Taylor why she was wearing it, Taylor responded with “I don’t care, I think if everyone is going to be so upset with what I’m wearing, I’m like, well, maybe you should look at your life a little more. I don’t know why you’re obsessed with mine!”. Later she told them “Music inspires me. Fashion is everything, it’s art! And I love art!”.

I have my thumbs up for Taylor, I totally agree with her. And after all, she’s only 16, and while you’re young you should live your life to the full. You have one life and one chance to make yourself known.

Thursday: Boyfriend jeans, tank top, cardigan, plimpsolls and a slouchy beanie hat

Friday: Skinny jeans, hoody, teeshirt, scarf, trapper hat!

Saturday: Little black dress, cardigan, heels and a fedora hat!

Sunday: Your “sunday best” and a big summery-floppy hat, to bring some sunshine back!

Ha, I must be as mad as a hatter

You can team this tartan dress with thick knee-high socks, shoobs (shoe boots), a waist-cinching belt and a cute hair bow. To keep yourself warm wear a leather jacket or a chunky knit. It may sound a little on the weird side, but if you pick the right pieces it will look wonderful.

Will you go on the Highland Fling?!?

Last year, neon colours were the rage. I couldn’t walk anywhere without seeing a girl dressed with a neon garment, somewhere. This Summer, pastel is key. Along with pastel colours, lace and very feminine patterns like floral is supposed to be in. I also found out vintage pieces will come in somewhere too

I am already a step up as I have tons of floral pieces. My favourite floral piece I own was a skirt from Topshop’s ‘Day Of The Dead’ collection, that was released just after Easter. I also got a lovely black lace dress from Cult, which has the “vintage” look to it.

Are you looking forward to Summer 2010?

Some staple pieces for this grunge look would be some old Dr Martens. I would choose black as black goes with anything. I would also get some distressed jeans that you can dress ‘up’ or down. You can also add sequins to this look, and I would get a pair of sequin leggings (they have some great ones in H&M for around £10) which will add a kick to your outfit.

Topshop is your friend this year with their awesome collection of Grunge pieces, with a “Kiss of the Vampire” Grungey tee that had sold out in SECONDS.
